Hello~

Concept~

This is my species, The Rua'lan werewolves. Rua'lan is an abbreviation of two words from the Irish language, Rua Meaning red, and Clan meaning family. The ancestors of these werewolves where originally red coloured, but the evolved as the grew with other wolf species tribes and now have a variety of fur colours. Natural only. They where also native in Ireland and scotland, but migrated. Only a few clans last today, and the only know is the Rushayen and the Revelle tribes. There is something special about these particular werewolves, they have a unique bond with a selected raven companion, a bond so deep, they cannot be taken apart by any force. They are bound at soul, interwoven together spiritually.

The Staff~

Alphas have a special staff, named the Slepior staff, it contains the soul of the raven, or as what they believe. The staff is decorated with paint and feathers of the wolf's choice. It contains a perching point for their raven companion, and a large orb, when the supposedly raven soul is carried. The lower ranking tribe members have a small orb, just over their heart, it can be any colour the wolf wishes it to be, and also is said to contain the soul of their raven. The raven is free to leave, but can be summoned if anytime needed. The raven in usually decorated with dye, like the wolf it's self.

The Soul companion~

New born raven chicks are assigned to the young werewolf before their 'right of passage', this is where they receive their orb, or staff. The right of passage is a ceremony, were all young werewolves gather at a spiritual meeting before a blue fire, it is the Alpha's job to distribute the chick and the orb. The orb is usually stitched to the wolf's body, but is numbed before hard to ease pain. The chick grows with the wolf, as it matures and a true bond is formed.
