Human Practice

Postby snowydays » Wed Aug 03, 2011 4:28 pm

I was thinking of learning how to draw anthros,but decided against it.For now I'm practicing humans in hopes of getting better<3
I'm pretty proud of the male head-shot,but the female looks...strange.I think it's because of her ear and forehead need some touching up ^-^ If anyone is interested,I'd like to continue drawing humans of course,but if you want your character to be the subject of my practice,then post a picture and personality 8D Completely free,though I'm looking to do one female bust shot and one male bust shot.

Constructive,kind crit would be helpful<3

Crit coming through~
Your male one came out really great. :D The female one is a bit off, however.
For the most part, to someone that hasn't seen much of you art, the male and female look nearly identical except for the fact that the female's jaw seems a bit more squished into her head. Drawing them is very similar to the male, except that the jaw is more slender and is a more delicate curve that reaches to the bottom of the ear. (Somewhat. ^^;)
It's very hard to explain by word. I'm having a difficult time formulating the idea in my head, but I can see it visually. XD

Another thing that's bothering me quite a bit on both of them is the ear. The top of the ear should reach the eyes in height. Take a look in a mirror and you'll see what I mean. :3

The neck, especially on the girl, looks a little long. ^^;

Over all, though, very nice. :D These were just some things that I noticed. If you're ever feeling lost, just grab a mirror. It seriously does wonders. :3
I hope that this wasn't too harsh. If you have any questions, feel free to ask via PM. ^^ Good luck to you.

If you add me to the list of people who can edit it, I'd be happy to redline it and give you any advice I can :) This is a great start, though! Don't be discouraged! :>

Sure! You can just remove the coloring so it'll be easier ^-^
