Chronic Fatigue Sam tells you a story

"I got sick once with a normal virus, like many times before, but this time instead of recovering something went wrong inside my body - I got Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Ever since then doing things is more exhausting for me, sometimes I need a cane when I have to leave the house, and some days I struggle standing or sitting because it makes me dizzy. If I do too much in a day I can't sleep properly at night, and the next day I will be very tired and feel ill, thinking becomes so hard, and my body will feel so heavy and hurt so much that I spend all day in bed to recover. Sometimes it even takes two days before I can move without pain again.

People think spending many days in bed is fun, but I have painful spots on my body from lying down so much, and it's so boring! I would rather always play outside with everyone else. My mom said I should ignore my symptoms, so I tried to, but it made me more ill. Now I can only do 1-2 big things in a day like grocery shopping and taking a bath, and my body did not hurt as much as it does now. Now I try to listen to my body and take breaks to rest so my health doesn't get worse. There is no cure for my illness yet, and people often don't believe me because I just look tired. I wish that they knew that I try my best every day."
