Equus ferus mimica has been discovered to be an additional subspecies of wild horses, and a close cousin to equus ferus przewalskii, the Przewalski's horse. They've been so ellusive for so long due to an evolutionary development never yet seen in equines till now, protective mimicry and crypsis!
