Egg-Eater
His true name has been lost to time.

A Great Dragon (large winged variant in my world) who did the most heinous crime of eating the eggs of a rival. Dragons place great value on the young as it takes a lot of time and resources to create new life among their species.

When discovered the Council of Dragons decided death was too easy. He was de-winged and his magic neutered (think lobotomy but a part of the heart for dragons, destruction severs their connection to all mana). The greatest shame for any Great Dragon is to be banned from the sky and lose their connections to each other. While death is not an option nothing stops other dragons from attacking him on-sight for his betrayal of their kind.

Over time he befriended an elven blacksmith who agrees to craft him protection as long as he aids his family in any conflicts. Egg-Eater was weak and battered so readily agreed to the terms. While unable to shapeshift into a humanoid form anymore, he was still a renowned sword-fighter from when he used to do mercenary work in his youth. While claws and teeth are standard for fighting among dragons he had to adjust with opponents being winged and magical. Falling back to the sword gave him the reach to defend himself from opponents in the sky.

The Hen'hal family crest features a wingless dragon holding a sword because of the well known alliance between the bloodline and this Dragon Knight.
