THIS WAS MEANT TO BE MY 1500TH OEKAKI DRAWING. but i coloured in that egg because i forgot T.T whatever, pretend that this is the 1500th.

1500 oekaki drawings... 1500......!!!!!!!!!!!! that's actually nuts. i had already started drawing this before i realised that, and, when i did, i knew i wanted to go all out. this was inspired by sir edward landseer's 'lion defending its prey', especially with the colours. i've always loved classic art, so i wanted to see if i could mimic the painting style while preserving my lineart. this is the first time, i think, that i've tried this xD i like how it looks on cavern, though, i feel like rapunzel's light coloured coat was really difficult for me to shade and it kind of stands out. i've also never drawn an expression like cavern's, and i actually really really like it?? i'm gonna post his sketch later cuz i saved it, i really liked it xD

the timer is mostly accurate. i was actually calling the aforementioned boy for 6hrs 12 minutes and was kind of fiddling away at this for most of that time while i did so. i don't actually have a story for this, but midas is known for being really greedy. my idea was that, maybe, he was trying to kidnap rapunzel or lure her into selling her soul or something and cavern was like "no". that's why midas seems a little bit shocked; he's never had a mortal confront him so physically

another thing: i just wanted to say thank you to cs in general for giving me a platform to even make 1500 posts. before cs, i was kind of the type of person who might idly doodle when they're bored, but having such an easy to use platform really made me want to draw. i've always loved horses, and now i'm able to draw any horsies that i want :) it's been, what, 4.5 years since my first drawing on here? that's INSANE.

this was my first ever original oekaki drawing, and it was done on a touchpad ;^; this was my first ever scene. you know, it's funny, too. when i first started drawing, i used to shade my layers at the exact same percentage every time, and i still remember the number: 36%. i literally haven't done that in years, but i just randomly remembered that xD
