my childhood home burned to the ground today. the boat that this character is based on might actually be one of the few things that survived from a little glimpse we saw in one of the only photos we have of the whole thing. if that little bit of red is really her, really intact, i'll be overjoyed. my lovely little boat, she's been through so much in just the time she's been with us and who knows what else in the more than 40 years of her existence that she wasn't. all her rig components are probably gone but the hull is the hard part to replace, so i'll be hopeful she'll make it out :) what's a boat if not for replacing parts and upgrading?
