i knew i wanted him to have his red base colour, but his markings sort of reminded me of roan so i made him a red roan. those darker patches could perhaps be turned into the somatic mutation mosaic (or chimerism), so that's what i went with. i know that *technicallyyy* his mutation (the seal bay) should be under the roan layer, but it's MY design now. ><
i want his name to be something akin to rocks, minerals, or like. something grungy idk. cavern, rocko, copper, cinnabar, jasper, etc. i might just keep it as cavern or rocko but i want suggestions!! :D
he's a herd leader and is an ally to white eagle. if eagle is the epitome of class, then cavern is the total opposite - he's brazen, stubborn, strong-willed, and impulsive. he's awfully young for a lead stallion, being 6 years eagle's younger. unlike eagle, however, he is a purebred mustang and his wildness reflects that. his mane and tail are constantly in tatters and are both sunbleached.
his unique colouring attracted the eyes of wildlife researchers, who often keep an eye on his herd. there are a few documentaries on him, and the frequent cameras and drones nearby keep most predators away.
