I used to wonder when I was a kid how someone so quiet and to-themselves could stay married to her like you did, until I saw how you were without her. I regret a lot of things, mostly the way I retreated into myself so far I couldn't see anyone else anymore. I regret how much I assumed you wouldn't want me around. I wish I had seen you more than I did, when I was older. It's been years now, but when I see a robin I remember how you used to sing that one song because I thought it was silly, or how you could mimic their sounds with a whistle. Sometimes I pretend if I tell them things they'll sing them back to you, where ever you are.
