It's 12:00PM when the bell rings and my their eyes are staring back into mine,
"Meet me under the apple tree behind the school!"
My crush runs away hurridly from my desk after saying something like that!
What is it? This heat...my cheeks! I can feel them burn my finger tips.
Did they like me, too? Since when? Could they tell, was I too Obvious?
It's 2PM when the bell rings and school is over.
I couldn't focus on class at all...
What if it's a joke? Were they just making fun of me?
My hands are on my face for a different reason.
I almost decide to turn back and ignore the whole thing when I see it.
Nestled under the apple tree are a number of things...
A Box of chocolates, Bear, Boba, Letter, Key...
Crouching to my knees I squeeze,
My eyes and then, taking the letter, it reads..
The first time I saw you under this apple tree,
I could not explain the feelings I felt within me.
It was warm, the sky was pink, and my clothes were drenched, a bruise on my lip.
Knuckles bloodied and ankles swollen,
dead phone and missing keys.
But you were, sleeping.
I don't know why my feet carried me towards you.
I didn't want to wreak that peaceful scene, but
You opened your eyes before I could turn back.
Looking me up and down, you blinked, and then you smiled.
"You want some Icecream?" What? is what I should have asked, but it came out as a "Yes." Instead.
You didn't ask me any questions, nor offer words of consolation.
Just a blizzard and a spoon.
It was so salty as I ate.
By the time the cup was finished, I realized I'd led you all the way to my door.
You followed me as I knocked on the door,
My mom answered, "------!" she cried as she pulled me inside.
She said something else but my ears went numb.
I saw you nod to her before you peeked back at me.
I felt myself smile before I could stop it as I watched your eyes grow wide.
I think it was from that time.
That was the day I started Loving you.
I looked up from the letter, a tear staining the page,
All the things under this tree, A Box of chocolates, Bear, Boba, Letter, Key...
But what I wanted to see the most, was
"Hey," a hesitant hand on my shoulder, you were looking away as I stood up
"So.." I kissed you before you finished and you sort of chuckled an "Oh..!"
Looking at you for a moment, your hand on my cheek.
"I'm so glad it was me that day,
That I was who you found.
I'm so glad I woke up that day,
That someone needed me around.
I'm so glad that we failed that day.
Who knew we had this much living to do,
that Life could be safe and sound.
