Steine stood to the side of the stage, eyes fixed on her wife. It had been too long since she listened to her sing, the familiar voice made her hiss as she drew in a breath. Slowly her body began to lean into the wall support, kicking one leg over the other as she rest. Each note was sweeter than the last, lulling her into a false sense of security. Even if just for a moment.
Cocoa bowed to the crowd and turned to her wife, just short of running to the arms that always held her so securely. They squeezed her in the embrace, a giggle bubbled from her chest as the two held each other. "No flowers for me?" She teased Steine.
"Not here anyway." The towering woman reached down to sweep her wife off of her feet, carrying her to the private dressing room. Steine kicked the door shut behind them and eased Cocoa back onto the ground.
A quiet gasp left her as she looked around the room, dozens upon dozens of red roses covered the dressing room. "All of this?" She turned to look at Steine.
Her eyes had softened as she looked at her lover's face. Small kisses were peppered to her cheeks, before she pulled her in close a hand holding onto her chin. Steine looked down at Cocoa, and stared silently before her lips began to part, speaking in a hushed voice, "All of it. Anything your heart desires."
Cocoa smiled and her cheeks pressed further into Steine's hand, "I have everything I could ever want right here."
