That one poor McCander lost his life trying to cross the road one day. He was so beloved by the town that he was buried with the highest honor a McCander family member could receive. This included leaving him on display to allow his soul the easiest access from his body to wherever he wished to go, little bone figurines for protection, and two statues for that added kick. (…of protection.)
In recent times, however, people have begun falling ill when around the boy’s resting place - it certainly doesn’t help that the over 1,000 year old body has not decomposed a smidge. The graveyard was closed to visitors by the McCanders themselves when someone succumbed to the illness. It has donned danger signs, warning any passerby to steer clear.
Now, as you walk past the familiar graveyard, you notice…
Were those wisps here before?
