small backstory:

Toadstool lives in the woods. They spend their mornings collecting herbs and mushrooms for stew. The nights they make lanterns out of glowshrooms, which are quite hard to collect. Every early morning they visit the abandoned monuments and leave offerings. The monuments move every so often, but they appreciate the offerings nevertheless.
Toadstool’s house is filled with soft things that they collect. The market is quiet a while away, but it’s worth the trip to trade their lanterns for some soft collectables.
All in all, Toadstool is having a happy life. They hope to meet a friend soon , though.

Cheddar was born in Cheddar. They scorn their parents for being unimaginative, but in reality they love their name. Even if they hate cheddar cheese! They grew up traveling from place-to-place in their parent's festival caravan, and as a result grew rather tired of seeing new places. Nowadays they live in a Welsh forest, and run a small apothecary shop for other woodland folk and people passing by.
