When the world of Isethef[my character world] was first created, gods were formed as small beings, babies-of some nature (though they could be fully grown, just innocent and 'new' to the world). Gods were borne from the power of other gods, or created through necessity, as the world bloomed- so too did it form new guardians to defend it as it built itself. The war between good and evil, creation and annihilation was one that spanned since the worlds beginnings, and each side had its own pantheon of gods responsible for maintaining balance. Upon the creation of a new god, a mad scramble would begin to adopt this small being, to utilize them for good- or to corrupt them for evil. In it's own way of creating unification- the way that a god was raised would certainly determine their roles in the world.
Courage was the first god created by mankind and became the god of kings, himself created by the will of men and their rise as a new sentient race upon the planet alongside the other, more ancient races. With the first empire of man, came the king of bravery.
Serafina, the creator goddess, was quick to take action and adopt this young god for her own to raise. Afraid of what may come if humanity was corrupted by evil, and always curious to the machinations of the new race herself, she was ever eager to see what fate would come of this young god, who quickly became a special interest of hers because he was so different than anything who had come before him.
