When the Cows Came Home

Kuraokami had just finished decorating for Lunar New Year when he began to hear a faint tapping -- then a *thunk* from behind that made him jump! He turned around, brush still in his mouth, to discover a tiny cow (??) had somehow gotten onto a table (???) and unceremoniously knocked his lucky cat onto the floor. It wasn't damaged, fortunately, but he didn't have time to be relieved before the sound of chewing demanded his attention instead. Wheeling back around, Kuraokami discovered another tiny cow (?!) had stuck its muzzle into one of his freshly-baked orange tea cakes*, and now stood munching without even the decency to look ashamed.

"Ah well," Kuraokami thought, "it IS the Year of the Ox! Perhaps they smelled the tea cakes..."

With that realization, Kuraokami set his brush down and padded back to the oven: if any more cows came home, he'd better have plenty of snacks ready for them!

*yes I know those are mooncakes, don't @ me please
