I remember learning this in dev bio a couple years ago. I had so many color-coded embryo drawings lol

just a hierarchy of genes producing proteins that either enhance or suppress the transcription of other genes during the development of a fruit fly embryo

im taking a class on neurodevelopment and plasticity right now and we have to make an infographic about one of the processes of development we've learned about thus far, i chose the embryogenesis of Drosophila >:)

we're just getting to the good part !! im gonna draw the Hox genes next!!
