This was just gonna be some sketches of the different breath shapes, but then it turned into a ref sheet oops.
I did want to update them a bit so it worked out.
Anyway, this is is one of my OCs, Sigma. They are a magic goat chimera kid and their breath is visible, and takes on different shapes depending on their mood and state of mind. Their magic manifested when they were a kid and they were never very good at controlling it, it tends to burst out unexpectedly so they don't like to hang around people much in case they hurt someone. They have been practicing control over it, but its slow going.
If anyone here saw my first drawing of them they have changed a bit. My sister drew them at my request once and I ended up incorporating some of the things she drew into their permanent design. Also realized I should make the snake an actual snake and not just...green. So now its a burmese python.
Mood breaths on the left side are, nervous/anxious, scared/surprised, angry/annoyed (breath tends to be darker and hangs down low). Fullbody just content/calm, that breath tend to be lighter and wispy. Not shown here, but happy is more like big fluffy clouds. The shapes can be pretty variable, for example, nervous/anxious is usually the shaky breath seen on the top, but the more nervous they become it can change in shape to be more pointed, similar to the middle one. The breath tends to follow them around as they move like its connected to them.
