my donkey meme drawing (was drawn in less then 20 mins) got about 60-70 views
in an hour vs my dog avatar drawing which got like.. 10 in 3.
i cant be the only one whos noticed CS is very horse biased LOL

i wish it was dog biased, ive noticed out of my art its very horse biased.
this got 7 votes in about 7 minutes, while my dog that took an hour (the dalmation) got 8 in an hour, or a little more

this is exactly how mine is. if i spend lesss then an hour on a drawing, it often does better.
i have a 10-20 min "pixel" like drawing that got featured, while my dog drawings i try hard on do not.

I made a 3 min sketch which got 14 likes but fully shaded, detailed art I made that I spent 2 hours + on only got like 3 likes >>;;

i see this so much!! i think part of it people think theyre fillable? (like edible?)

I just think this is what being an internet artist is like???? When I post on tumblr the things that are silly and low effort usually get MILES better numbers (probably because its easier to have jokes and memes on ur blog). There are so many factors involved in exposure, audience, etc that sometimes it's just IMPOSSIBLE to predict what gets traction if your aren't carefully monitoring trends. Especially hard when you're really proud of smntn and want to see it do well

This post is an unusual example because it begs involvement and comments from other artists complaining about the effect, thus boosting engagement and continuing the cycle. Thats why people on Instagram always caption their posts with stuff like "whats ur favorite??" Or "Did you eat breakfast today??"
