Palespot was new to the relatively new to the clan, but things seemed to be going well. He glanced around the clans camp before leaning down to lap up some water. Cool snow crunched as the sound of pawsteps made their way closer to the tri-colored tom's position. Looking up the green-eyed tom blinked in surprise as he saw Cinderstorm padding towards him with purpose. The other tom hadn't been as welcoming as the rest when he joined a little over two moons ago. So having Cinderstorm approach him without a harsh or civil look either meant that something had changed, or the other tom had gotten better at hiding his dislike.
"Hello Palespot," Cinderstorm started, swallowing roughly. "Dawnstream wanted us to go on a patrol, at moon-high."
Blinking owlishly the tom nodded then mewed," Okay, should I bring Robinpaw?"
A look flashed across the grey tom's face before he nodded, and turned to pad away only saying a "See you later." over his shoulder as a goodbye.
Palespot blinked then turned his gaze to Splashsong, his mate who had been padding toward him from the other side of the stream. Smiling the pale calico nuzzled her mate after hopping across the stream.
Later that night, Palespot stood in front of the snow-covered apprentice's den, sticking his front half in to rouse the young apprentice. "Come on Robinpaw, we got a patrol to get to." He whispered, giving her a shake with one paw.
The apprenticed was quickly roused and the duo made their way over to the camp's entrance where Cinderstorm was waiting. The two toms nodding a silent greeting to each other, before starting to head out. Before leaving camp, Palespot turned to look over camp once more, a smile flickering across his jaws. Life was good.
Notes: Robinpaw was originally mentored by Snowleap, but she fell pregnant and eventually had Ashkit. For some reason, Robinpaw wasn't given a new mentor until Palespot and Splashsong joined the clan.
