But MAN, with an end result like this, I think it was worth it!!! I love how this turned out!!! CS isn't the best with dark lighting, so I do wish I could have played with that a bit more, but hey, the way it is still perfectly fine with me! <3
This is a scene from the beginning of the Warriors novella Tree's Roots. In it, Tree, who's a kit and named Earth at the time, went find his best friend, Stream, who ran off during a particuarly dangerous storm. He finds him on top of a steep hill, but before they can both climb down to safety, lightning strikes right next to Earth, and he sees Stream tumble down the hill limply. He finds his friend at the bottom with charred fur and smelling of smoke: he's been struck by the lightning and killed.
This scene hit me pretty hard - I mean, here are these two childhood friends, who not too long ago were talking about travelling the world together so they wouldn't be lonely, and then all of a sudden... one is gone, and everything changes for Earth/Tree. Dang. That book though. ;-; So many scenes are so sad, but it's one of the best written novellas I've ever read!! <3
Anywho, not much else to say, really! The designs (although they're so covered with other things that you can't even really see their pelts much) for Stream and Earth/Tree are mine, but the characters belong to Erin Hunter! Have a great day/night, and stay safe and sensible, everyone! ^^
