So, just a PSA to show lotsa support to any friends you might have that are siblings to people with special needs, big or small. It's really hard and it helps to have someone to lean on outside of their family. I've got a sister with mental disabilities (add, adhd, odd, bipolar, something else I can never remember) and it's tough. Especially now more than ever. A lot of people can't get away from their siblings to get a break. School used to be the one chance I got to be away from my sister and I'd walk to my Grandma's house afterwards and we'd hang out and I could just relax for one moment of my life. I don't have that anymore at all. I'm losing my mind and I'm sure I'm not alone. It doesn't matter how much you love someone it's just hard and tiring. So if you have any friends with special needs family members that they live with maybe send them a text and make sure they know you're there for them? I'd love to have someone outside of my family to talk to about my struggles, but my sister is my twin. Anyone that's good friends with me are also her friends as well. If I told anyone about her she'd be crushed and I would never do that to her. So to your friends that do have support from you, make sure they know it. We need it right now.
