Wellman sat afraid in the middle of his once beautiful home. It had been years since the crumbling walls had last heard laughter. But those days were over. Long passed were the days of happiness and safety. All that was left now was silence, with no one around besides Wellman. Long ago when he was a pup, barely able to fly, he had left to gather berries, and when he returned, they were gone. No footprints, no signs of struggle, just gone. Now he lived in the quiet of the forest alone. But, he hadn't noticed the glowing eyes that had watched him from the shadows all these years...
