Thank You for commenting!! I really like seeing an artist's process myself, so it's kind of strange I never revealed that part of my own work. though in truth i usually do all the line art at once before colour, but i was super givin up on this one
Here's the probably too real answer to your nice question: I guess my perceived inability to draw animals is less ability to put Lines and Colours in Places to look like an Animal more like I have a hard time picturing non-humans in 3D in my mind's eye, which makes it hard for me to imagine them in different angles and come up with interesting composition. Here's an insight into my process; I imagine my mind's eye as a 3D modeling program, where I can turn the thing i wanna draw around and shine different lights on it, etc. I'm pretty okay at modeling humans, but barely have a fully formed vision of a wolf, let alone a dragon, which makes me feel like i'm on shaky ground when drawing quadrapeds. the only thing I had fully modeled in my head was that dragon's face, which means it was the only thing I was confidant about, which means it was the only thing I drew today. And that was the TMI answer lol

Oh wow, that's really fascinating! I bet you'd be really good with Blender then eh?
No wonder your compositions are so good, you've got a true artistic eye~ ^^
