Abyss

Postby meerkatgirl » Sun Jan 23, 2011 2:39 pm

I was listening to MGMT's Kids, and was inspired to draw this. This is a character I made up. I had thought of a really good name, but I forgot. His demon, Abyss, follows him everywhere. Abyss is a reminder of everything he has done, every wrong step he took. We all have an Abyss, that little cloud over our heads that reminds us of all the things we could have done better. The character (I really wish I could remember the name... it started with an F and was random like Flomp or Floo or something) focused to much on that and the doubt and guilt became a real thing, a shadow that trails behind him, leaving a wake of destruction.

edit: Since I can't remember the name, I'm just going to add to the story.

Once Abyss arrived, it took over. The character became nothing more than a shadow himself, turning into Abyss. He kept his form, but he has lost his name and true identity. He wanders the same streets every night, the only time he is visable. He looks for some way out, some way to remember who he truely was. But Abyss cannot be lost. Once Abyss has found you, you become nothing.

edit again: this quote inspired me, it was in the video I watched. "He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster. And if you gaze for long into an abyss, the abyss gazes also into you." ~ Mark Twain
It started and ended with a man.
