Alright! So I've been tasked with designing some art for the local animal shelter I volunteer at. We have a lot of windows that passbyers can look through to see into our "Cat Room". I'm tasked with painting simple designs on those windows, so that when cars drive by they can catch a glimpse of an idea on what our building is. Our building has these red wooden pillars lining the front in a canopy fashion, and they compliment the black brick building really well. The only issue is that red color is quite a popping color. Which is good, it draws attention, but besides the signs, there is no way to tell WHAT that beautiful poppin red pillared building is. (It doesn't help that our sign is sometimes obstructed by bushes and trees. I need to figure out a good color to complement the red, and a design that says "Hey this place has to do with animals". Our establishment is on a main road, so passbyers wont be able to see MUCH detail.
Does anyone have any ideas? This is a big step for me! And I want to be able to get it right. All ideas, no matter how absurd, are all welcome! Keep in mind they are windows, so I want there to be visibility. The art will be placed every other, other, window or so. At the very least, Does ANYONE know a good color to contrast a black building with red pillars...? xox
