This little filly is going to be a special adoption. In order to win her you have to tell me what is causing her brindle. Hint: brindle does not pass down like it does in dogs
Rules:
•You must fill out all of the ank information AND answer the question correcting.
•Once she has been claimed I will fill out her pheno/genotype
Updated rules
•This will be ending tomorrow.
☆So far everyone who has entered will reserve a custom brindle design with minimal pattern ( you will be able to pic the bas color and white pattern)
•I will no longer accept somatic mutation or chimera as answers.
Another hint has been posted below
Owner: FireWolf52
Registered name: Cartagena
Barn name: Gena
Sex: mare
HIP# 15
Phenotype: skewed red dun overo (brindle) w/ blue eyes
Genotype: ee aa DD w2 low
All foals will be dun, 50% chance for dom white 2, 50% chance for frame 10% chance for passing "brindle"
Open for breeding? Yes
Guess: primative marking
Answer: skewed dun
I'm allowing this guess because it is essentially what is happening! It's really cool. Skewed dun is when the undiluted base messes up and appears on the body in the form of "bars"
It also happens with roan, the white hair doesnt fully cover the body so the base is able to show through in the form of brindle. In greys and varnish it's the same thing.
I hope everyone had fun and learned something new. Big thank you to everyone who gave it a go, really appreciate it
Those of you who didn't win but still participated please message me (if you dont message me in a few days I'll message you first) for your free gift design. You can pick the base color and a white marking (splash, tobiano, sabino, rabicano, ect) the rest will be up to me. There will be brindle on the horse somewhere, if you pick grey, roan, varnish, or dun I will add a little heavier brindle pattern.

[size=85]Adoption Price: tell me what is causing her brindle
So far guesses have been
•Somatic mutation
•Chimera
•Brindle1 (not sure what this is)
These are all wrong guesses.
Chimera can cause brindle but the point of this adopt is to educate and most people know of chimera. Somatic mutation is very interesting but as far as I know it doesn't Express in a brindle pattern.
Brindle is also non inheritable in horses. Meaning it is not an allele like dogs have. It is 100% by chance.
Here is a third hint:
A skin disease called BR1 can cause brindle looking scars. It only occurs in mares since it it lethal to Male foals. There is also a fur texture called n1 that can also give the appearance of brindle.
The most common form of brindle is linked to gray, roan, and dun horses. Anyone know what called?

What does "open for breeding mean?" Open for breeding means that anyone else who owns one of these drafts (or other horses created by me/my team) can use your horse to breed and create a new "foal"
Foals will be link on each of its parents page and vice versa. A horses breeding status can be changed at any time, you just have to PM me so I can update it
