⮞ Once you have claimed your horse, now you must get to work on taming them!
⇢ Taming your horse will involve a sort of training journal
⇢ Your journal must have at least 4 entries, each being at least 200+ words or involve at least one art piece (can be sketches or colored with the muddy appearance of the horse) of whatever training you did that day
⇢ Training journals may be posted on the horse's page, preferably organized all into a single post so that the adoption page is not continuously bumped
⮞ Now that you are able to put your hands on and safely work with your horse, its time to clean them up!
⇢ To clean up your horse and finally reveal their appearance, simply post a 300+ word story or an art piece of their bath time. Feel free to make them fun!
Any horse that is claimed but the tasks are not completed before the end of the event will be put up for adoption as a normal adopt.
This event ends on April 26th. All tasks should be completed by then!

Entry #01
We managed to catch the horse and put him in one of our corals, starting his very first training session. Entry #02
We are using the horsemanship method, as this has proven to be the most effective for the wilder horses and we just like this method. He didn't want to have any to do with it at first. It took a while on getting him tired enough that he wouldn't sprint and buck in any direction. Entry #03
Finally, it took quite a lot of work, but we gained his trust enough and he came towards us and in this moment we could touch him on his head. This was our first real touch. Entry #04
It took a while but we finally reached the point that we could actually starting to ride the stallion. we trained him to this point using the horsemanship method and it worked out really well for this stallion. I continued with the horsemanship training method. My first goal was to be able to sit on him, I did this by making him lay on the ground and then I would gently touch his back, with more pressure in each touch and finally I climbed on top of him and sat on him. He flinched a little but he finally accepted in. The next step was making him stand up while being on top of him. I did this with a hand signal and he got up immediately. Now it was time for our first real ride and boy did he do well. He responded to perfect to the hand and sound signals and we are actually riding Thelonius for the first time. He was amazingly co-operative. After he got used to us being on his back I decided to step it up a little by giving him a trot signal and he went into a perfect trot pace. After a bit of trotting it was time for our first gallop. He was moving so swiftly and softly that it looked like we were flying. Eventually we finished of with a good walk so that he could cool down. We just realized, this was our very first ride without any mishaps. There would still be the training with putting blankets on and eventually a saddle, but that was for a later time. He proved well and he would turn out to be a great addition to the herd.
Cleaning
Finally, after all that work it was time to clean up the horse. As we had to gain his trust first it had been well over a week before he trusted us fully to give him a good cleaning session. We started brushing him with a rubber curry comb to get off most of the mud. After cleaning the rough patches of mud we used a hard brush to brush of most of the other stuff that was on him and we used the soft brush for his head and other sensitive parts. As this wasn't enough to clean him fully we then decided to give him a proper rinse. Luckily the weather was on our side and it wasn't too cold out for a rinse. We turned on the hose and let him see what was up with that weird thing. When started aiming the hose at his hooves so that he could get used to the feeling, when he gotten more used to it we moved up our aim towards the leg and shoulder. Now that he was fully acquainted with the hose and the water coming out it was time for his full shower. We used a special natural shampoo to wash him and we rinsed the soap down. Now it was time for him to dry, first we rubbed him of with a towel and then decided to let him go into our infrared dryer, which proved very useful in the winter. After he dried we brushed him again, starting with the hard brush and finishing of with the soft brush. We also finally picked his hooves and combed his mane. There he was, transformed and showing his lovely original coat without any spots of mud.
