I'm not sure if this belongs in intermediate oekaki? If it doesn't, I'm sorry.
I haven't done digital art in a really long time and I wanted to see if my traditional art skills could translate, so I drew Archangel Gabriel. There really isn't much of a description of any of the archangels so I kinda came up with my own interpretation for them. One of the unanimous things in most Archangel Gabriel portraits is the use of golds and browns. I am sure that there is a symbolical meaning behind the colors, but as of now, I don't know it. I also gave them 8 wings because they're an archangel and seraphs, who are ranked below archangels, have 6 wings. Some theologists argue that archangels have no wings, but I chose to ignore that. I don't have time for grumpy theologists who don't like wings, smh. In this house, we love and draw wings.
Based on biblical theology, I would peg Gabriel as one of the more fun angels due to the fact that they seem to bring a choir of angels everytime they have to spread a good message. Honestly, if I had a choir singing every time I had something to say, I wouldn't stop talking. At all.
Also, Supernatural being a big part of my teenage years 100% did warp my interpretation of Gabriel. But it's all good.
The name Gabriel is written in Latin (top) and Hebrew (bottom).
