Barn Raisins are petite egg-laying mammals, who have developed an interesting way of fending off other animals of prey. Their digestive structure consists of two stomachs, one smaller internal stomach, and one larger external (tail) stomach. The large stomach is the primary source of digestion, where the smaller is rendered mostly inert, while the external stomach is in use. If threatened, a Barn raisin will drop its tail, which will subsequently burst (much like an explosive waterballoon) sending highly corrosive stomach acid, and bile into the face of an approaching predator. Tails will take up to two weeks to fully reform, and begin active digestion.
