Kettu are a fox-ferret hybrid, the name Kettu comes from the finnish word for fox.
Kettu were created in a laboratory somewhere in Finland. The laboratory's
whereabouts are unknown. Once the scientists had successfully conducted their
experiment they had set the Kettu out into an enclosed area, filled with wildlife
and enough food for the whole pack. But a Kettu had escaped. And afterwards, it
had led the whole pack out of the environment. The Kettu were very flexible
creatures, they could adapt to almost any climate and area, and began to migrate
towards the rest of Europe and Asia. Kettu were eventually kept as pets, the very
few that were living were kept as pets for royals. Later on in the century they were
taken away on boats to North America, and bred there. They eventually became as
common as a cat or dog. There have been rumors of some Kettu being born with wings
or magical abilities, but they have not been caught on camera yet.

Kettu are very harmless creatures. They don't attack unless they feel
threatened or their space is violated. They are tamable and can be kept as pets.
They do have claws and will scratch, they also have very sharp teeth. Although being
attacked is very abnormal.

Seeing as a Kettu has ferret genes, they are quite long, about 40-55 inches [without
tail]. They are mostly fox though, their skull is square and they have long muzzles.
Kettu are very slender and have small paws. A Kettu's tail however, can be practically
any shape. A common tail is very fluffy and long, but some tails can be short and
stubby.

▸ Follow all of CS rules
▸ Bullying and harassment are not tolerated. If you ever have any trouble with another community member come to a mod or starshine,.
▸ Do not alter your Kettu's design in any way. You may add items to it.
▸ Kettu may be used outside of Chickensmoothie, but you may not use their original reference, you must create a new one.
▸ You are allowed one custom/MYO per every 2 weeks, it resets exactly 2 weeks later.
▸ If you are banned for CS, your Kettu will be rehomed. If you are banned from the adopts, you may keep your Kettu but you may not be allowed to use the original oekaki art for it.
▸ You are allowed to trade your Kettu 2 weeks after you get it.
▸ You are NOT allowed to sell your Kettu for off-site currency. If you wish to sell your Kettu please notify starshine, and she will approve it and make the change in the archive.
▸ Please try not to pester artists about adopts or RU's, they have lives and we need to respect their personal space.
▸ I may change rules as time goes on.

▸ Upon hiring, artists may make 1 unedited custom. As they begin to settle in, custom limits will begin to disappear.
1 month: unlimited common custom
2 month: unlimited uncommon custom
3 month: unlimited rare custom
after the unlimited rare custom is reached, every month after that will be an unlimited rare custom.

▸ Please try and finish customs within a month of order.
▸ Please judge competitions within a month of them ending. If you have exceeded that time period starshine will take over for you and choose the winner.
▸ Try and be active in the community. Artists who spend at least a month without making designs/judging competitions/making nursery batches will be considered ghost artists and will have to reapply to become an artist.

Common ▸ small hair edit, longer fur, short tail, backmane

Uncommon ▸ shorter fur/no fur, ear edit, mermaid tail, leopard tail, custom pupil

Rare ▸ long hair edit, munchkinism/reverse munchkinism, extra limbs [up to 6 limbs total], glow, horns on the head, different colored blood, goop on the body, 2 tails, 2 sets of ears

Legendary ▸ wings, magical abilities, plant growth on body, horns on body, more than 6 limbs, missing limbs [up to 2], transparency, gene splicing [with approval]

𝗥𝗨 & 𝗛𝗠 𝗦𝗬𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗠

RU's are always allowed in a competition, although
no more than 3 may be handed out per adopt. RU's
should not be given out freely, and should be limited.
If you only got 2 or 3 entries in a competition, no RU
should be awarded.

If you do not receive your RU before a month of it being
awarded, please notify starshine.

HM's are lesser awards than RU's, but can be redeemable
for an artist-made custom. A maximum of 10 HM's should
be given per comp.

HM customs:

5 HM's: 1 standard edit
10 HM's: Unlimited standard; up to 2 common
15 HM's: Unlimited standard, 2 common, 1 uncommon
20 HM's: Unlimited standard, unlimited common,
2 uncommon
