Masuku are a decently rare species known for their cleverness and unbelievably high IQ's. No one has been able to recover enough bone structure to identify possible ancestors or distant cousin species, but skeletal studies have shown that the masks they bare on their faces are not genuinely masks, but part of the animals' bodies. Masuku vary in size and shape, as all other animals do, but the majority of them are fluffy or furry unless one has a sort of genetic mutation. It is believed they originated in Japan, but no one is certain, considering the intelligence of the species and the conditional immortality it harbors.

Nursery Information

Masuku give birth to one to four kits per "litter." The Majority of the time, there is only one kit. Two is uncommon and any amount above that is very rare. Unlike canines and felines, masuku don't quite give birth to litters. More like humans, they're just their young. If two or more masuku are born on the same day, the kits are considered twins regardless of any differences.

There are different generations of masuku. Generation I is the first generation introduced to people. GII represents the kits of GI. GIII Represents the kits of GII, and so on. This is to help keep track of genealogy.

Female masuku can't breed again until a week after they give birth. Males don't normally breed with other masuku from the female until their kits have grown up, as they have a duty to protect the kits as well. However, this is not always the case, depending on the masuku. A female is pregnant for at LEAST three real-life days. In addition to this, the number real-life days it takes for a Masuku to mature is usually from about three to ten. However, it can take far longer.

The rules for the main forum apply to the nursery. Do not consider breeding your masuku or entering a breeding artist competition without reading up on them.

You may couple masuku from two different users! You must compromise on who gets the kit(s), however.

Additional Nursery Tips

-Nursery tips are updated frequently, so check back around once a month for added tips.
-You are allowed to set up one of your masuku for breeding under a fee if it does not have a permanent mate. Those masuku will be recorded here, so PM me with the form below if you would like to add your masuku up for breeding requests under a fee. Be aware that you own none of the kits your masuku may have. If you use an undecided masuku, its sex changes immediately to accommodate with its first breeding partner. You may make your masuku breedable for free as well. You cannot, however, set up more than two breedable masuku.

I have to post news about the nursery on the main page because no one but you, Luci, has marked the nursery.
Here's the nursery's news (not that you didn't already know it)--
We will be holding a breeding artist competition because we need breeding artists! These artists will not be masuku artists and will only be included as people who breed our masuku together. This is required partially because it would be unfair if Lucifer and I bred our masuku together; whoever the artist is knows what masuku will come as a result! This is why we need at least one other breeding artist.
