How does missing a leg impact their life?
This wasn't supposed to happen. It was just supposed to a routine traffic stop, but of course the perp sped off as soon as Irene stepped out of the vehicle. She should have listened to her partner when they mentioned taking another direction. She should have seen that the driver ahead was losing control. Irene wished she had done many things differently. Wished she had seen the car ahead of her swerve towards them sooner. Wished she had been able to break in time.
Wished it had been her instead...

The crash was a blur of sound and color. Pain was a distinct thought as was her consciousness that slowly slipped away. Where was the backup? What was taking so long? Minutes felt like hours as first responders arrived. Irene doesn't remember them getting her out nor the trip to the hospital where they realized her leg was beyond repair. What she does remember she wished was a sick joke of a nightmare. The squad didn't blame her directly. The danger that followed their line of work was known by everyone. Irene did enough of that herself.

After being released she wouldn't let any of the squad help her. She instead on doing everything herself despite the pain and would snap at anyone who argued otherwise. This was for her to bear, a self punishment of sorts..
The missing leg is a reminder, a curse, a sign that her life is changed forever.

How does missing a leg impact her life?;;

Primavera was born with a missing leg, she knew she was different, and she didnt like it. She didn't want others to pity her, she just wanted to be normal so she tried to avoid pity. She began to pretend to be someone else, going by Esmeralda instead of her real name: Primavera. She pretended as if that missing leg meant nothing, and she became popular because of that. Something she hadn't been before. It make her feel happy, even if Esmeralda is not her. But that eventually began to put stress on her. It became harder for Primavera to be Esmeralda. She couldn't let go though. She was worried if people would start calling her "liar" and people would hate her. She thought highly of others, she cared too much and didn't want to bring too much attention to herself. Though she just did. Thanks to her Esmeralda fascade, that was why she was stressed out. The only place she could leave herself go and be Prima for once, was up by the lake. A childhood place, the only place she felt like herself. It wasn't the missing leg that was effecting her life negatively, it was her Esmeralda act. An act she might soon drop.

As a model of sorts, a missing leg tends to affect their life positively. They give a good light to others with missing limbs, and it's good all around, showing that people with a missing limb or disability can do what they believe in if they put their mind to it. Growing up, Joan usually stood up for themselves. If someone commented on the leg, they'd take it with pride and say that's just who they are. They love putting on accessories that show off their missing leg a lot of the time, and honestly take pleasure in showing off what makes them unique.

How does missing a leg impact their life?;;
Vivian finds her missing leg frustrating, more because of how other songrems treat her as a result of it rather than how it impacts her physical capabilities. She's had plenty of time to adapt to the missing limb, and can do almost everything she used to do with little trouble. Her only regret about her own ability is that she can no longer clamber across mountainous terrain with her usual ease, and has to take more frequent breaks that take away time from something she loves.

However, other grems have practically coddled her with misplaced kindness and it drives her insane. It doesn't help that before the missing leg thing Vivian was independent and kept mostly to herself. No, she does not need help with whatever menial task she's doing, she's fine on her own and /she will ask/ if she does need help. The enjoyment of having the occasional conversation with passing grems has turned into annoyance towards the incessant nattering that became more commonplace, insisting she could do nothing on her own. Thankfully, she's gotten through to most of the grems she interacts regularly with, and they've stopped being so attentive about her "problem". Any grems new to the area may come to find her snappish before they get to know her, as Vivian tends to react negatively towards others offering help nowadays unless she's obviously struggling.

How does missing a leg impact their life?;; [250/250]Martyn's missing leg occurred early in his life during an adventure he had gone through, and originally, he found everything more difficult with this loss. He no longer felt able to play with other Songrem, unable to catch Starflies without falling on his face, unable to explore like he used to, and unable to be a real Songrem. However, that was when Martyn was young and emotional. As he got older, he was taught by his elders how to live with the loss of his leg, and over the years, the Songrem started to feel better about his disability. With their help, he was able to balance more, and learned how to do what he used to when he was exploring, just differently. He started to focus less on how it hurt him and felt like he could finally be himself again.

Currently, Martyn is a creative and active Songrem, enjoying life and having his love of exploring sparked back up in his heart. Others have told him that he should get a false leg of some sort, but Martyn always refuses this, as he sees it as throwing out his years of learning to cope with his missing leg. Martyn, along with being an explorer, also took up motivational speaking for younger songrems. He loves telling his story of how he learned to cope with his own physical disability and try to support and encourage others to do the same and not think as negatively as he used to.

How does missing a leg impact their life?;; maximo was never excessively active, even before losing his leg, although he did love hiking. trails lined with bunches of wildflowers and trees that filtered golden rays through their leaves, creating swaying patterns of light when the wind blew. so when he lost his leg, it didn't make a huge difference in his physical life, but he had never felt so odd doing normal things. people stared where ever he went, even if he was doing the exact same thing that he was doing. doing things as simple as going grocery shopping meant he would be gawked at. often times he gets confused as to why he gets looks while he's in public because hes become so used to his life that he forgets that anything is different. he could barely remember what it was like to be treated like he was a normal songrem, whenever he thinks back to before losing it, he does regret taking for granted the social aspect of having four legs.

at first, she thought she'll never achieve her goal of being a model. she grew to despise it; she preferred to hobble on three legs and not use a bulky prosthetic leg. when someone asked how she lost it, neve would growl at that due to her despising think of it and even mention it. the only way to get her to talk about it is to ask her about her opinion on it and her response will always be a rant.


as years past, neve slowly noticed it usefulness and beauty in it. nows, she finds it something to help change other's point of view on beauty. she is a model and always wears a prosthetic leg while on the runway. she prefers to show her flaw of missing her leg to show others beauty can shine through flaws, not just the perfect parts. that means she'll only wear something that would should the prosthetic leg, making her difficult to work with at times.

talking about it changed as well, she freely answer any questions about it. she finds it a part of her and isn't bothered by it. she learned to accept it and cherish it as it makes her beauty more unique than others. also, she grew from despising it to finding the true beauty in it.

How does missing a leg impact their life?;; She was still before and she remains more so now that her leg is missing. She has always lived a peaceful, quiet life in a shrine tucked away from common view. She enjoys her quiet status, though now she's a bit more careful about who she allows inside. She worries periodically, because the animal that attacked her came in search of someone she had welcomed into her shrine as a guest. As their hostess, she was attacked as well-- and the two of them barely managed to escape alive. These days she has moved around, finding a more recluse shrine to remain at-- now back to her peaceful life of stillness. She hopes that no one will find her through the veil of mist and fog that surround her shrine, feeling safer now in lonesome silence than with company.
