"UH duh! Being the fastest kalon in the world yo! How do you think I got this shine, getting struck by lightning?!"
Chase, to be honest, is totally fast. In his school he ran a mile in 5 minutes. Thats 2 minutes past the fastest record ever! Where ever he goes its always 'SNAP TO IT!' or 'HURRY UP', no one can seem to slow him down. The reason why their so smug about it, is because no one actually believes he's that fast, till he proves it. His ego is SOOOO big, he loves to see the shocked and awed faces of standbys as he races by. He's always been in track and gotten 1st place for them all, except for a 100 meter race where he went to fast and plowed into some kalons at the end, getting himself disqualified. He plans to go to the olympics, racing head to head against the human Bolt. For now, he has to go to school.. which isn't bad if you're popular! His smugness is great for when he shows off, flashing his shine at the string girls with his signature quote "ZAP! STRUCK BY LOVE BABY!" *insert girls fainting and swooning*. He's already getting free scholarships for many colleges for him joining football, but he's not really into the aggressive side, just running. He would take soccer as his next option his he couldn't join track, having running and keeping something to yourself is all what he loves. Other than that, he's just a cool cat, kalon?

why are they so smug?:
zach's paws gripped the wheel tightly, his nerves getting the best of him. yeah, he was nervous. he wouldn't admit it if you asked him, but he was. he looked over at his opponent, roman, the best in town. he tried burning holes in the side of roman's head, but he never looked back. zach knew roman wasn't nervous, there was no reason for him to be. he was against a newbie, zach, an unheard of name in the world of racing. zach had no idea what he was doing, going against somebody like roman. maybe he should just back out right now. run away and never show his face again. he couldn't do that. if he wanted to get his name out there he'd have to take some risks. maybe, just maybe, this could be his big break.

the bleachers were full of kalons who eager for the race to start. they were all holding up posters bigger than their bodies with roman's name on them. zach looked away from all of the posters and fans, trying not to let it get the best of him. his paws still gripped the wheel, but this time he wasn't looking at roman. he was looking straight ahead, ready for the gun to signal the beginning of the race. time slowed down in zach's world all of the sudden. and when the trigger was pulled and a loud gunshot went off, he simply wasn't ready.

he hesitated. when he realized the gunshot had went off about two seconds ago, he quickly pushed his foot down on the gas pedal and began speeding off. in this moment, he had no idea what he was doing. all he knew was that roman was right in front of him, not too far ahead, but not behind him. he pushed his foot down even harder on the pedal, going faster than he had ever gone before. he was edging behind roman, the front of his car almost meeting up with the back of his. zach's breathing slowed down, he was getting the hang of it.

one lap down. he had passed the finish line once, all he had to do was pass it again, but this time before roman did. zach made a perfect turn at a corner of the track, hardly slowing down while doing so. he looked to the side for a split second and realized that he was somehow in front of roman. if he could, he would be celebrating, but he couldn't as he had to keep his mind set on winning. roman was barely lagging behind him. he wasn't sure if he was going to make it. he made another perfect turn and sped past the finish line.

it took him a good minute to realize that he had won. all of the kalons in the bleachers stood and cheered for him. he had won. the no name won against roman, the king of racing. maybe he'd have a name now.
