The gender isn't known, but it is said to be male. Or at least they refer to Phobos as a "he".
• It makes the wearer/Effect •
Firstly, the wearer gains a rather hostile behavior. The mask also begins to alter or create monstrous features on said wearer that strike fear to anyone who comes across them. It should also be mentioned that the wearer does not have the ability to notice the changes made to their body by the mask. The longer they wear the mask, the more these characteristics fuse into their body. Eventually, a mindless monster is made out of the wearer, who is now officially controlled by the mask, whether they are wearing it or not.
• The purpose of the effect •
Fear is the life force of this cursed mask. By getting himself permanent "servants" who he then sends off to terrify people, he manages to remain within the world of the living. Should it run out of this energy, it will become just a simple mask and his servants will be releashed from their curse.
• Owner •
As of now, no one seems to understand who the true owner is. The people who come across the mask and decide to take it do end up calling themselves the "owner". Little did they know that the mask is the one who owns them and not the other way around. It just takes some time before they realize that. But by that time, it is probably too late for them to be saved from the curse.
