Wow! It has been about 6 years since I last attempted to use the Oekaki. For some reason, it felt easier this time. Fun fact: I didn't realize that I could use my Samsung Galaxy Note like a graphics tablet, so I started this drawing just using my computer's mouse. I did the initial drawing, background, color blocking, and some of the hair before I learned how to connect my tablet to the computer. Never again! I really respect any artist who can create even half-way decent looking art with a mouse and not drive themselves crazy.
This was pretty much my first completely digital drawing (usually I draw lines on paper, take a picture, and color them in on my Galaxy), so I'm fairly pleased with how it turned out. There are a lot of things I could improve on, such as that funky hand/arm anatomy, her ear, and just shading in general. But for my first finished Oekaki drawing, I'm pretty well satisfied.
Oh, yes! Please don't ask what that thing is above her outstretched hand. To be honest, I'm not even sure. I was just playing around with the dodge, burn, and blur tools and that was the result.
Edit: Somehow I didn't notice how off her part was until after I posted and then it started to drive me crazy, so I fixed it. Hopefully her hair style looks a lot better now.
