he'd live in a place where society has collapsed, just like the buildings & any bright days have all together. there's barely any kalons left, & there's an overtaking of cryptids that outnumber most kalons (the cryptids aren't v obvious though, like they're not roaming the streets aimlessly to attack others, they usually just stay to their own spots unless provoked or anything of similar matter), & new unresearched sicknesses going around. it's not really known why this is happening, & a lot of kalons have stopped caring about others & more for their own lives, so a lot of kalons are left by themselves in the whole matter - except those who decide to stick together.
occupations aren't needed anymore, & kalons stick to the main basis of either; protecting their lives, cryptid hunting & or researching the new sicknesses, or even trying to ignore the fact this is happening & living as if nothing bad is really happening. because the kalons who pretend that what's happening, isn't really happening, there's still a good amount of restaurants, bars, & stores that supply normal things / though along with new ones that supply things for surviving the new 'apocalypse'.
there's a lot of camper parks for kalons who want to stick together & figure out the whole reason behind this, & though that's where a lot of the 'researchers' are located, some prefer to travel & stick to the streets by themselves. the latter is exactly what eryk does.
iii . eryk's 'occupation' ;
essentially my idea for him is the he's a deal maker of sorts, he helps out others; esp ones who have no one to trust, or are living on the streets with no motive to travel anymore. all his deals are fairly innocent, & he never tries to hurt anyone; because in general he's a very good & chill guy. the reason he makes deals instead of just helping people with no fee is because he really needs to survive himself.
in return for things he'll do people, he'll ask what they are actually able to give him without having them run low on supplies themselves. say, if they're an apple orchid owner, he'll ask for apples. the deeds he does in return are fairly simple, he might bandage someone's wounds or find them shelter, & a lot of the things he does are like mostly trades haha.
there's times, if someone really can't give anything in return for him, he'll just help them with no fee. eryk tries to keep up a business-like personality when doing things for people but his soft heart really can't help but feel bad for certain kalons.
iii . eryk's personality ;
eryk is a humble & kind guy. he's fairly selfless considering the conditions of the world he's living in currently. & there's a certain vibe to him that's relaxing, like pine trees & soft drinks & the good old days. when he's upset or mad (& him being angry is super rare), it's hard to tell, because he really tries to stay friendly to everyone no matter what. it might seem like it, but he's not easily manipulated, & often other kalons (or maybe cryptids) will try to do just that to him. that's one of the main things that can make him angry, but he more so gets hurt or sad from it when others try to manipulate him.
eryk is a pacifist, he really dislikes any form of violence, aggressiveness, or weaponry etc. he likes to get down to the feelings of things, like his heart lives on his sleeve, except that heart moves from hand to hand, sometimes hiding itself, nervously & hides the feelings he really should show. he acts happy & calm more than anything. in rough situations, he likes to handle things with words. countless times when he's gotten into encounters with cryptids (esp. psychological working ones ??), hint: most of the time it doesn't work out well.
he's very softly spoken, kind of slow & doesn't always think twice about what he says (not saying like what he says is trying to be hurtful, but what comes to mind comes out his mouth all the time haha).
the main reason he's like that has to do with his past. he was a very violent teenager, would actually beat people up, hurt them with words, do disrespectful things such as rude vandalism etc. it would always get him into trouble, & he eventually learned from his mistakes (very slowly). he now kind of feels pity for people who act like him when he was younger. it hurts him a lot actually ? he acts very fatherly to them haha.
iii . some fun facts abt eryk ? ;
- he loves fancy food & restaurants, not like those are very common to come across but as he never grew up with fancy food, it's rly a lovely new thing to him. (kind of a bad time to start loving it though pfft)
- speaking of his past in that last part of his personality, he was kind of a hippie before he became rly mean & started hanging out with 'bad' kalons. he was never actually picked on actually, mainly he really ? wanted to make the world a better place, thing was, he found that no one would ever listen to him, he was v ignored. & eventually he was always ending up being rude to others so they'd maybe just listen to him. he grew out of it though. it's kind of why he sees the world so differently now & SUPERSUPER does nOT want to be mean or hurt anyone ever. that was super confusing i'm sorry i'm tired i dfjnjddj tho would def develop that more pfft
- he loves watching movies !! <33 ngl his guilty pleasure is when people give him vhs tapes in return for his deeds to them.
- picked up smoking from his 'mean days' rip, he doesn't do it often but if he's stressed which also isn't often he might ?? he also swears super casually, also a carried habit from those times aha.
- adores music that's v experimental ? things that are just weird n maybe tell a story smtimes. it's super relaxing to him ! he also lovs to dance aha ;;
- the world currently is kind of like ? the 1980s or 1970s, except it's stuck because no one can rly move forward considering what's happening in it currently.
- big sucker for bowling alleys ,,,, , those are also rare but he was super into bowling when he was a kit & before everything started happening aa :''0
