• the middle child out of three, often overlooked by his parents in favor of the older and younger
• quickly learned how to lie to keep himself from getting in trouble
• did his best to separate himself from his family, and led the most average schoolkid life of the three (mostly)

worked at a big box pet store while still under his parents' roof until he got fired for refusing to sell animals to kalons who clearly should not own animals
• left his parents' home with little fuss and did his best to ignore their scant calls in college
• moved to ilodia in search of his sister, and got a job there

• employed at the nine and twelve, a convenience store-attached-to-gas-station chain (named after the founder's kids, who were nine and twelve at the time)

• knew nyra wasn't in a great situation at home, but had no idea how bad it was
• was told by his parents that she threw a fit and decided to go it on her own, which didn't seem quite right to him considering that she left all her stuff
• figured out where her last competition was, and then used it to find her and make sure she was alright
• still worries about how she's doing because she hides so much
• tries to make sure she never has to worry about him
