Meiko are little rabbit like spirits. They originate from Asia and often inhabit shrines and temples. Due to this they used to be mistaken for messengers of gods and were treated as such. but since then they have been forgotten. They are now unable to be seen by most humans now. Though they are still very attached to humans and still hang around shrines. They try to grant the wishes of humans who visit the shrine. They love collect little human trinkets like hand mirrors, combs and toys. Since they are spirits they do not need nourishment, though this doesn't stop them from loving sweets and festival foods. They are a bit bigger than normal rabbits, they're the size of a house cat. They love being well decorated, to them it is a sign of social status. They have small bald patches under their eyes, the skin there is generally brightly coloured and reflective. They use these to attract those of the sex of interest. Though most of them aim to be the familiar of a human who can see them.
