why/how are they insane? OR what drives them insane:
The flower on her tongue is poisonous and affects her mental state severely.

Her father warned her not to eat flowers as a child, but she was never good at listening. At age seven she ate a black-eyed susan, and her life hasn't been the same since. Her eyes turned black, and she became insane. She's now nineteen, still living with her father on the edge of a village. He concocts potions with natural ingredients that he hopes will cure her, but they never work. Flowers casually grow on her body-some she lets stay, some she snips off.
She often sees things that are not there or hears noises in the woods, so she chases after them. This scares the other villagers. when she takes these night-walks, Hana will feast upon more flowers and it makes her sick.
Usually by morning her father has found her, and brings her back home. This constant cycle drives her more insane.
