About Caeplumas
Caeplumas are slim, faceless mammals that grow to be about the size of lynxes.
Despite their lack of eyes and noses, they are perfectly capable of navigating environments as well as a human could. Using a sense similar to that of echolocation, they are able to "see"
everything in detail with only a small amount of noise. Needless to say, their sense of hearing is extremely strong.
They communicate primarily through language, but they are known to chirrup and purr when happy as well as snarl when aggressive.
Another defining feature of these animals are their manes and tails of feathers. They are known to be the pride of these creatures,
and not unlike a peacock, the strength of color and length contribute to the attractiveness toward potential mates.
Caeplumas are known to be intersex most of the time, therefore gender does not matter in breeding. However, some have chosen to go by pronouns.
Adopting a Caepluma
You can adopt a caepluma by contest, raffle, customs, or breeding. Contests and raffles are held regularly above. Customs are for staff only. Breeding requires at least two already-adopted caeplumas. More information about breeding can be found in the rules below!
Traits
• Common: Mane edits, hair edits, fur edits, tail edits, tongue edits
• Uncommon: Teeth edits, extra ears, mane/hair edits past shoulders
• Rare: Albinism, glow/sparkles, marine edits [fins, gills, etc.], nose
• Ultra Rare: Wings, powers, extra limbs, eyes
Basics
• You may own up to ten caeplumas at once. This includes caepluma kittens and customs.
• Because caeplumas are a closed species, you may not create your own caepluma without special permission, an MYO slot, or a staff position.
• You may add accessories to your caepluma after adopting it, but only accessories. Accessories mean clothes, objects, and jewelry, only. You may also add a companion pet to your caepluma, but it may not be any virtually adoptable species or another caepluma.
Trading and Gifting
• Ask for permission from a moderator before trading or gifting a caepluma, and after being given permission, inform an archivist.
• You may trade your caeplumas for other caeplumas, but you may not sell them for DeviantArt points, money, pets, any other adoptable species, or any other form of currency. You may, however, sell items, custom slots, and MYO slots.
• You may only trade or gift your caepluma after having owned it for three weeks.
• You may gift a kitten caepluma immediately after it being born, however, you may not trade it until after two weeks.
Breeding
• You may only breed your caepluma after having owned it for four weeks. Saving the date your caepluma is adopted is recommended for his purpose.
• The nursery artist will decide the design for the kittens and the number of kittens unless special permission is given to the parents' owner/s.
• A maximum of four caeplumas can breed at once, meaning four caeplumas can make a single litter of fawns.
• Each caepluma may only breed three times. Whether they breed with the same caeplumas each time is up to you.
• Each litter of caeplumas may include a maximum of four kittens.
