Despite her young age, Zephyr's eyes have seen a lot of good and bad. She was born on an Indian reservation out in the Midwest. Her dam was a sweet mare who never did wrong, and her sire was a stallion whose name was long forgotten. She was loved by and cared for by a young boy named Swift River. It didn't take the horse and boy long to form a deep bond that could never be broken, no matter what happens. However, one late night, a storm rolled over the plains. The heavy rains brought floods all over. A nearby creek overflowed, and Zephyr was swept away from her home and family. She awoke in a dark and cool place, on a soft bed of shavings. Some people had found her, and she had been rescued. The nice people who had saved her always gave her plenty of love and nourishment. However, she could never erase from her memory the cold water that swept her away from everything she knew. She hasn't seen Swift River or her dam ever since. The years have passed, and a small part of her still believes that, maybe, just maybe, she will see her original family again.
