personality; saria is a kalon who is very caring about
almost everyone she meets. seeing that she lives alone
in a cottage in the middle of a small wooded area, she
doesn't really see that many other kalons in a day. so
when she meets another kalon, she tries her best to
be as kind as possible. deep down in her heart, saria
believes that every kalon has good in them. and
because of that, she is often very forgiving. with
certain people, she can be a bit clingy; as she doesn't
like to lose any people which she values. saria is an
extroverted introvert. she loves interacting with
others, but she desperately needs her alone time.

if anyone happens to come by her home, she strives to
be an inviting and generous host. although one problem
is, she can be very messy. normally her house is quite
messy and so is her fur and hair. because of her
forgetfulness, the thought of cleaning up her house
slips from her mind a lot.

saria likes to think that time goes by a lot more slower
than it actually does. because of this she normally loses
track of the days. that and she likes to take things slow
    and steady.

honestly, she is a child at heart. she might be an adult,
but she refuses to grow up. normally, she might do a
few things that might seem pretty silly and may have a
childish attitude towards some topics. although, at the
same time, she acts older than her age at times.
usually being slow with certain things. [for example,
her favorite song, fireflies is now a huge meme. she
doesn't get it. please help her.] it's just odd; really.
theme song; owl city -
fireflies

zodiac; pisces

likes; the night, friends
& visitors, fireflies, the
stars, the woods, her
comfort zone, cozy
blankets, nature,
flowers, a good book

dislikes; losing anything
or anyone, fighting or
arguing, raisins, hurting
others [emotionally or
physically]

fears; losing something
or someone important,
destructive fires, bugs
[kinda???]

home; saria lives in a lovely cottage. the cottage has two floors, the floor on top is made of wood
and painted white and the one below it is made of cobblestone. the top floor is a lot smaller than
the bottom. the top floor has window boxes where she grows a variety of flowers. in front of the
house, saria has created a rather small garden. there she grows strawberries; though she also
grows one or two other strawberry plants inside her home. [home kind looks like this.] the cottage
can be located in the middle of a small wooded area. somewhere relatively close to the back of
her house there is a small and calm creek. and nearby her house there is a thin path and if you
follow it, it leads to a large opening.

    facing fears.
sometimes in life we must face our fears.. and, well, that's what i had to do. when i first moved to this little cottage in the middle of the woods, i honestly, found this place wonderful. it was like nothing i've ever experienced before.. but then i realized something.

i live alone now. you know what that means?
i have to kill the spider.

at the time, i was scared of spiders. i didn't want to have anything to do with them! although, i realized this a bit too late. i was in my living room laying down on the couch and i noticed something going up the wall. something black and small. i quickly realized what it was, a spider! i scrambled up on the couch and cried out for help. then i remembered that i live alone now, in the middle of the woods too. no one could hear me. i had to face my fears. it wouldn't be too bad, right? i ran off to the bathroom and grabbed a bunch of toilet paper. swiftly, i hurried back fearing that the spider might've crawled away.

slowly i walked back to the living room toilet paper in paw. the spider was still there. i could feel my paws shaking as i slowly inched towards it. without much more thought, i killed it. i crumpled up the tissue carefully, making sure i wouldn't be able to see whatever was left of the spider. i ran over to the kitchen and threw it out. and of course after, i washed my paws.

i went back to the couch and laid down, letting out a relieved sigh. i was pretty impressed with myself. i did it. i actually did it. honestly, it wasn't as bad as i had imagined. i had worried that the spider might have bit me or something. but no, it didn't even do anything. i kinda felt bad for that spider later on in the day. anyways, i was soon able to get over my fear of spiders. i guess i wasn't as scared of spiders as i thought.

    be my guest.

saria's ear flicked when she heard a light knocking on her front door. before the knocking, she was just freely doodling. she got up from her chair quickly, putting down her pencil and crumbled up the piece of paper, throwing it into the trash. "coming!" she yelled, looking around the house.

saria moved over to the living room and pushed everything that was on the floor aside, most of the stuff was still very visible. it was hopeless cleaning up at last second, but she still tried to do it every time. the cottage was still a mess, but she just shrugged sighing and went over to the door opening it wide, expecting to see another kalon. although no one was there... she stood in the door frame confused as she looked side to side. "hello?" she called out into the trees.

no one. she heard the noise again. slowly this time, she scanned the area from where she stood. her eyes spotted a vibrant red, she squinted to get a better look. a pileated woodpecker. "huh, that's weird.. i could've swore it was knocking.."

shutting the door, she sighed slowly walking over to the living room. she couldn't be hearing things wrong well, unless she was. then she remembered she has been pulling all-nighters for the last two days. maybe that lack of sleep was having some effect on her? she rested her muzzle on one of the couch's arms and came to a conclusion,"i need more sleep. no more all-nighters."

    midnight stroll.
even though i promised myself, on that very faithful day, i would not pull anymore all-nighters, that still didn't stop me from having trouble with sleeping. i don't know what's wrong with me; i lay down in bed starring at the ceiling hoping that soon i can fall asleep. and i just do that until i see the first ray of light shining through the curtains. why i do this, i'm not too sure. it's hard to explain; i just feel too tired to fall asleep.

one night though, when i was starring at the ceiling listening to the clock downstairs tick away seconds, minutes, and hours, i got out of bed and tried to peer through the darkness outside. i wondered if anything else could be up while it was this dark outside. i went downstairs and looked up at the clock, it was hard to see it through the darkness, but i managed to read the time; 12:42.

when i left the cottage, i instantly felt the cool night breeze blowing gently through my fur. i took a deep and refreshing breath. i started to walk aimlessly. and while i was walking i started to notice a lot about my surroundings. it might've seemed silent, but all you have to do is listen. you could hear crickets chirping a slow song and the low and quiet coo of a bird every once in a while. and of course, the sounds of my own steps. when i looked up i could see trees that stretched towards the darkened night sky and all of its leafs delicately swayed in the light wind. it was soon that i came around this barely notable dirt path, i decided to follow it so i could see where it took me..

there were less and less trees as the path came to a slow stop. when i had reached the end of the path, i saw what it had lead to; a very wide clearing shielded by a thin wall of trees. at first it didn't seem like much, but as i walked out to the middle of this clearing i looked up and realized that just by standing here i got a perfect view of the night sky. from here i could see every detail and feature, that i couldn't see before, laid out. i settled myself down on the soft grass and just relaxed there in the moon-drenched clearing, silently appreciating the beautiful sky above. i felt myself at peace. and very slowly, my eyes closed and i fell asleep. it was one of the greatest sleeps, i ever had in my entire life.

so whenever i just can't sleep at night, i escape to the open wilderness where nature eases me to sleep.

    thinking about the past.

beep! beep! the microwave sounded as soon as it had finished warming up the contents inside. saria padded over to the microwave, opened it, and carefully brought out the hot chocolate inside. closing the microwave again, she went to the nearest counter where she set down the hot chocolate. she stirred it a bit, as she looked through a nearby window. outside on the branch of a tree, saria saw a wood pigeon.

she hummed. oddly, it reminded her of where she had lived before moving here; the city.

ah, the city... living there was okay, she supposed. flocks of pigeons flying about, picking at the smallest bits of food. the way the city glows during the night; but, not being able to take it in thanks to the rude, hasty kalons there who were always in a rush. the fact that there was pretty much no greenery besides some fake, plastic grass. and the thick, foul-smelling air, which made her cough. okay, maybe she disliked life in the city. like, a lot. but, that's exactly why she decided to move in the first place.

okay, some might wonder,'if you hated the city so much, why did you even decide to live there?' well, honestly, it isn't saria's fault. she was born and raised up in the city. all the while, she was constantly, sick and tired of the polluted, concrete area. although one day, saria saw an interesting ad for a cottage in the woods. at the time, she was old enough to move out; and move out is what she did. she left her small crowded apartment, and quickly settled in her new home.

looking back on the past makes saria smile. because it really just makes her thankful to be living the life that she has right now. smiling she took a small sip of the now warm hot chocolate. but then the spoon hit her in the face. "ack! seriously, spoon?"

    the town.
saria walked with a spring in her step and a smile full of excitement. today was one of those days she would visit the town. she held a wicker basket covered with a piece of cloth in her jaws that was filled with strawberries. normally, the basket was half filled due to multiple critters stealing strawberries from her garden, but today she had an unusually large amount. the journey from her home to the town was pretty far, but honestly saria didn't mind. when she goes down to the town, the lengthy walk pays off. she continued walking as she thought about the town itself.

eventually, saria had reached the small town. at the moment, the streets were mostly empty. though everyone once in a while, someone would recognize her. almost every person waved or smiled and greeted her, in which she responded positively. soon she came to the familiar fruit store, with a colorful display of various fruits outside. saria walked through the door and went up to the cashier with a smile. the cashier returned the smile,"hey saria. haven't seen you in awhile."

"hello to you to!" she greeted and quickly continued,"heh.. yeah. i know." saria put down the basket on the counter; the cashier pushed the cloth aside, setting it down on the counter, and checked through it briefly. "all good.. wow! this is a lot."

"i know right! i was quite surprised myself," she replied as the cashier put the strawberries on a nearby fruit scale. they looked closely at the number and quickly pushed some buttons on a calculator. soon, they opened up the cash register and took out the money, carefully counting. once they finished with that they laid down the money before saria. politely, she thanked the cashier. "hold on, i still gotta give you back your basket."

"that's right! i almost forgot!" the cashier nodded and turned around to pour the strawberries into a big drainer. they turned back to saria and placed her wicker basket onto the counter. again, saria thanked the cash register. "are you already heading back home?"

saria shook her head as she put the money into the wicker basket and covered it up again,"i was gonna walk around and maybe talk to some other people."

"oh, okay then. uh, i won't hold you back."

"no, no! it's fine you weren't.. i could stay to talk with you for a bit if you'd like."

the other kalon's eyes seemed to light up when she had offered. "uh, yeah! that'd be great!"

and there the two kalons stood at the counter talking. how long did they talk for? hours perhaps. saria loves to visit the town; this being one of the reasons. finally having someone to talk with for once.

it was another one of those nights for me. after starring at the ceiling for what felt like an eternity, i finally gathered the strength to get out of bed and leave the cottage.

soon, i was laying down in the soft grass. it was summer; i noticed the air had a warmness to it, though it was definitely more cooler than in the morning. i starred at the night sky for awhile; the sky was hazy, i couldn't see the stars too well. although, i saw one flickering vivid light. i then saw another, and another.. it was truly beautiful, these small specks lighting up the night sky. oh, how i wished i could capture the moment.. save a few of this moment in a mason jar. oh, if only i had one on me at the time. i had left my jars all at home. maybe another night.. i watched as they floated by; as they came and went. my mind, thoughts, and emotions were all at peace. it all felt enlightening. and soon, i felt myself drift off to sleep.
