A Benta is a a mammal-reptile cross that takes a bit more after its mammal half. They lack nostrils causing them to taste and smell through their mouth. Their smell isn't strong so their other senses are heightened. The species overall looks chubby but majority have a fast metabolism that speeds up depending on what they are doing, causing them to intake a lot of food and store extra unused energy in their cheek areas. They all usually have short tails, otherwise the other tail that is rarely seen is a long gecko-esque tail. Bentas are a species that feed mainly off of fruit but won't be opposed to other food sources when presented the chance. Once a Benta reaches around 18-20 years, (human years), they gain the ability to shift into a bipedal-like form that they use mainly for protecting/defending and occasionally gathering food or interacting with other bipedal species.
