┌─────────────☆Facts☆───────────────┐
....☆ Their scientific name is Ignis Cervus, but were however
.... more affectionately named "Downys" by a scientists daughter.
....☆ A stocky deer breed, bigger than the average deer,
.... they tend to stand about a foot and a half taller than the
.... average elk.
....☆ Their calls are closely similar to the bellow of an elk and
.... the bleating of a sheep.
....☆ The bands that grow typically from their spines and tail bones
.... are to protect extremely sensitive nerve endings that are
.... otherwise fatal to remove or damage.
....☆ The bands are covered in a highly valuable metallic enamel.
....☆ Their fur is extremely soft and downy in some areas, growing
.... rapidly and curly much like a sheep if unkept.
....☆ Their feather stems all contain bio luminescent properties.
....☆ Their tails and prehensile, allowing them to move them at will
.... and to mimic things such as fire when they feel threatened.
....☆ They are omnivorous creatures, their preference is meat.
....☆ Their eyesight is extremely poor, making it hard to hunt for
.... their favorite treats and food.
....☆ Their hooves are wider to compensate for their lack of
.... eyesight, allowing them to balance themselves easier.
....☆ Their ears are extremely sensitive and are able to swivel in
.... a 180 degree fashion, able to hear the bleating of another
.... Downy almost 2 miles away.
....☆ Long whiskers that sprout from their cheeks are used to
.... help them gain a greater sense of their environment.
....☆ They are extremely social creatures, and will frequently die
.... if separated from their herd without any source of
.... Companionship. But given this, they are able to bond with
.... almost any friendly and affectionate creature. Be it predator,
.... prey, or even humans.
....☆ Given their mating habits and bird like show of dominance
.... and act of "wooing", the breed's need for antlers has died out,
.... though a few can still be found with them.
....☆ Through studying Downys, scientists were able to discover
.... that the animals were extremely intelligent, perhaps rivaling
.... primates and Dolphins.
....☆ Downys have the ability for extreme mimicry, much like larger
.... parrot species, their vocabularies can grow to immense sizes.

┌─────────────☆Mates☆───────────────┐
....☆ Downys very often mate for life, though, are able to find a
.... new mate semi-easily upon the death of the old one.

.... with their feathers and intricate dances.
....☆ A Downy may breed up to two times in their lifespan, any more
.... would be far too difficult on them.
....☆ A Downy will never breed with a sibling, mother or father.
....☆ Downys must wait at least a month to breed again after their
.... fawns have been born.
....☆ A Downy can produce up to two or three fawns per breeding.
....☆ When given a new owner, a Downy will be hesitant to breed
.... under such new conditions. Therefore an owner must wait at
.... least a week before breeding their new Downy.

┌────────────☆Social Habits☆──────────────┐
....☆ Downys are relatively friendly and docile creatures, it is rare
.... to see a fight break out between Downys, as they typically mate
.... for life and therefore have no major need to fight. However, some
.... fights can break out over food, especially when it comes to meat.
....☆ Downys do have an alpha male and female within the herd, but
.... this pecking order is often chosen not through fighting, but through
.... a brilliant display of their feathers and luminescence.
....☆ They generally travel in herds as little as seven and have been
.... seen in herds as large as forty three.
....☆ Downys are very family orientated and will almost always stick
.... close to their mothers/fathers or siblings within the herd.
....☆ Downys love to sing, often harmonizing with each other generally
.... at night. Other herds will often join in on the singing as well.
....☆ Despite Downys soft natures, they are slightly territorial, if they
.... feel an unwelcomed herd of Downys are intruding, they will attempt
.... to either bring them into their own herd, or chase them out.
