I was home-schooled as well! All twelve years. Best decision my parent's ever made.
I remember every winter feeling so sorry for the kids who had to walk to school... As I was sitting at the kitchen table, in my pajamas, drinking hot chocolate. :3
I remember all my friends had to be up by seven and at school by nine. They didn't get home from school until four in the afternoon, and then had homework to do. I got to sleep in till nine, had the whole day's work done before noon, and was FREE for the rest of the day!
I remember my friends having to choose between baseball, hockey, swim, or ballet as their only choice of extracurricular activities that they could get credits for. I got to take horseback riding tours through the mountains, archery lessons, First Aid and CPR. I got to run in a marathon (a local 5 mile deal.) and I put my dog through agility classes. And it all counted toward my graduating credits! It was awesome!
If I ever have kids, they will be home-schooled.
