Species concept?

Just messing around...they breathe through slits in their sides, and their chests are encased in an organic glass. They can sometimes be "water type," "air type," or "fire type," either having wings, fins, or the ability to breathe fire respectively.They cannot talk and survive on sound waves.

What do y'all think?
