What are Novibats?
Novibats are a unique species of bats that can take up residence anywhere their heart desires...


Novibats are bequeathed with special "star-stones" that operate as magical transforming agents. Once they come of age, their star stone changes color (the little diamond in the center) and they undergo a permanent metamorphosis which results in their designation to a specific biome. Once metamorphosed, it is incredibly difficult to leave and often results in death because the Novibat is not suited to other climates. Novibats can then remove their star stones, as it loses most magical properties it held and becomes a memento for the Novibat. However, they usually keep them around their necks as it is something they keep with them all their lives as physical memories of their homeland and the Star-Stones serve as a form of name tag.

Mr. Edgar is more on the quiet side. He won't talk to you unless he thinks you are worthy to talk to him. He thinks of himself highly and often ignores others. His first impression is usually quite intimidating. A stern deadly glare and pointed-up sharp ears. If this novibat does think you are worthy of talking to him, he will still remain quite quiet and will only speak when he thinks it's completely necessary. Sometimes it's like talking to a brick wall with him... When taking care of the graveyard and nurturing the spirits, he comes off as gentle and almost fatherly. Ghosts are a very dear part of his life and he's able to communicate with them through simple things like them turning on and off the lights, Ouija boards, and quiet whispers if the ghost's energy levels are strong enough.
[O C C U P A T I O N:]
Vlad is an undertaker and caretaker of a graveyard in Russia. He buries bodies, watches over the graveyard, calms the spirits, etc. When the ghosts are riled up or upset, Vlad will sit down with them and talk to them. He’s almost like a ghost therapist, you could say. He believes that they have already went through life and hard times and don’t deserve anymore of it; it is their time to rest and be content as spirits. Vlad is familiar with every ghost and their basic backstories. He is mostly nocturnal, just as the ghosts. Sometimes, he will fall asleep in the graveyard with them surrounding him. But, he mostly sleeps in a small run-down stone house that is on the property of the graveyard. Sometimes ghosts even sneak in and play pranks on him.
