You said you liked darker colors, and a combo of natural and unnatural markings.
Plus I tried to do simpler markings, since you do mostly traditional art, and I know that's easier without weird layer effects and whatnot.

The tail shine is a custom, as you requested! It's symmetrical on both sides, so it looks like a spearhead!
