His name is Oscar. No, he's not a grouch, but he was very unloved and quite lonely when his human found him. Feathers torn and matted, he was such a sight that even the adoption agent ordered he be taken away to quit scaring the rest of the abandoned pets. Fear and doubt filled the old owl's eyes, yet as soon as the gentle hands of his new human touched him, it seemed like a new owl would soon appear during the following days and weeks. Plump mice and rats were fed to help new feathers sprout and grow. Clean, fresh water flavored with essence of chocolate and strawberries were given to him, but his favorite... blue raspberry icey! He was given a small, stuffed toy to snuggle against and soon he and Totoro were the best of buddies... even though the stuffed bird couldn't speak. All he did was sit and keep his new friend company while Oscar's new human made sure he was kept safe.
