What is a N'Dye? wrote: Recently, a group of tourists that were diving in the Caribbean saw a large, brightly colored tail hidden between two rocks in a coral reef. Believing they had found a mermaid, or perhaps a new shark species, they inspected it closer. The tail suddenly was gone, and a strange creature darted out from between the rocks, disappearing into the reef. The tourists reported this to a marine biologist, who could not place the species. The group went out searching, and eventually found what seemed to be an aquatic wolf. However, it was quite different than a normal wolf. With gills, two ear pieces, large fish-like tails, a seahorse-like muzzle, and tentacles in place of their dewclaws, the species was something they had never seen before. Naming them Pescelupus Nadalus, or N'dai (Singular: N'Dye) for short, the specimen was taken in and cared for. It was discovered that they make great companions, as long as you have some sort of area they can swim in nearby!
N'Dai mostly eat fish and crustaceans, but kelp and coconuts are a healthy treat that they all enjoy. It has been observed that they use their tentacles to grab things, almost like a human would use hands. Ink will sometimes secrete from their tentacles, which the N'dye would collect with a seashell, or anything they could find. Biologists have been providing vials for the N'Dai to use, which they wear around their neck on a rope made of seaweed. Most N'Dai are colorful, in order to blend into their coral reef home. Their ink is normally a color that they have on their body somewhere, but rarely it can be a different color. They have a great sense of sight and hearing, but their scenting isn't the best. Using their 'hinged' ears, a N'dye can hear much better than other sea creatures. N'dai have both lungs and gills. They hunt using echolocation, but have been seen on land, using their blunt claws to bash crab or lobster shells. Pups are normally fed some soft creature, such as oyster or snail.
It seems that some N'Dai are harder to find than others, and here are the current listings!
Common: an average colorful N'Dye, no edits of any sort.
(Artists can make as many as they want.)
Uncommon: Almost pure one color, or minor line edits.
(Can be made every 10 commons per artist.)
Rare: Black scelra, OR missing/no tentacles.
(Can be made every 20 commons per artist.)
Very Rare: Has both of the rare traits.
(Can be made every 50 commons per artist.)
Scarce: Has its own lines, almost impossible to find.
(Only for adopt #100, adopt #200, ect.)

Don't be upset if you don't win the N'Dye you wanted
All N'Dai are straight cisfemale/cismale, as that is the only way they can breed.
You may have as many N'Dye as you want
Be patient, most good art takes time!
Be kind please, no rudeness alowed!
You are not allowed to trade your N'Dai.
If you don't want a N'Dai anymore, you can readopt it out or gift it to a friend.
If you are permanently banned, your N'dai will be taken and readopted.
I reserve the right to ban players from adopting! The ban can be temporary or permanent!
Staff Rules:
You may have one custom.
If I feel like you are not doing your job, I have the ability to give it to someone else
You will not receive special treatment when trying to adopt a N'Dye, and will be treated like a normal adopter.
Artist Rules:
Keep supply and demand in mind- we don't want 500 N'Dye that need homes and only 3 people adopting, and vice versa.
Please make your designs relatively creative! If you need inspiration, look at tropical sea life.
You can decide the end date and the contest for your adopt, but be realistic
FCFS is absolutely allowed, just please don't use it for every single one of your adopts!

Mods:
Mods are the people who watch out when seedcakes isn't- they can issue warnings,
but not bans. If a player recieves three warnings, a mod should PM seedcakes evidence
of what the warnings were for, and she will decide what to do from there.
